Blogfession

This is a blogfession... (which of course is a confession in blog form).

There is something I need to confess, and then I have a question which I'd like you to answer in the comments section, knowing that this community is loving and supportive.

I've only ever discussed this with my mum, and it happens to her too... but that doesn't give me real confidence, because, let's face it, we're both a little weird. Please don't pass (too much unnecessary) judgement on us.

On occasion, when I'm in that phase between awake and sleeping, just as I'm dozing off... I involuntarily make the sound of a fog horn.

*pause for shock, re-read and laughter*

Mum does it too... neither of our respective husbands say anything though... If Chris made that sound I'd yell at him for scaring the chit out of me or for being a weirdo... Is the sound in our heads?

I've googled this phenomenon by typing in, "I make a weird noise when I'm going to sleep" and, not surprisingly nothing of consequence came up.

We both can't make the noise when we're awake... It's so odd.

So my questions...

Does this happen to you?
Do you know why it happens?
Do you think we're a bit strange?

  2. I just happened upon your blog and I couldn't help but comment because THIS HAPPENS TO ME TOO!!! I've never met anyone else who does this. The weirdest part is when I wake myself up doing it... lol - so glad I'm not alone
